Read the information below and answer the questions which follow it:

 

 

Bee on Flower

 

"The worker bee has a mass of 125 mg. It is one of the main flower pollinating insects. The bee has two special baskets, one on each of its back pair of legs, which it uses to carry pollen. As it moves from flower to flower to drink nectar, it also collects pollen which it stores in its pollen baskets. Each pollen basket has a mass of 7,5 mg when full. During 10 hours of a summer's day, one bee can carry 750 mg of pollen into the hive.

One of the bee's favourite flowers is clover. Each clover flower provides 0,03 mg of pollen which the bee adds to its pollen baskets."

 

1. What is the total mass of the bee when both of its pollen baskets are full of pollen?

2. How many times does the bee leave the hive in search of pollen over a 10 hour period?

3. If the bee finds a field of clover, how many flowers must it visit to fill its pollen baskets with pollen?

4. How much clover pollen can a bee take back to the hive in 3 hours?
